Material Characteristics Breakdown

  • Carbon Steel: Highest tensile strength per dollar, easily heat-treatable up to Grade 12.9, but requires surface plating to prevent oxidation.
  • Austenitic Stainless Steel (304/316): Excellent universal corrosion resistance, non-magnetic, moderate mechanical strength (A2-70 / A4-80).
